My crafts… part5 3D Origami

In this post I want to share my 3D Origami collection. These are made for my daughter’s 9th month birthday.3D origami is an Chinese craft made from paper. In 3D origami small modular pieces called modular triangles are made from paper and assembled as to the design required like Swan,Hello kitty, flower basket, fish. For this craft I got inspired from http://www.papercraftcentral.net/ who makes awesome designs of various crafts possible with paper. One good thing I love in this craft is you can recycle paper and the other is you can fold these triangles where ever you want to like while watching movie,in the car going to a trip and store them for later ideas. For white color triangles I made are from single side printed papers.

First we need to cut any paper (generally A4 size) into 32 equal parts. The below photo will help you to know how the triangles are folded.

The modular triangles seems to be so simple to make, but to make a single 3D origami design you need to prepare hundreds of those triangles. It takes so much time and hard work, but its worth it for the outcome you get..

The collection of my 3d-origami is here

Hi! I love your work. Your quilling is awesome. But the origami peacock – simply amazing. I ahve no words. Swan, I’ve seen before. It is impressive. But your peacock beats them all…! Of course allt he other origami pieces are wonderful. But I was really impressed byt he peacock. I returned to the individual image, as in the photo where all the pieces are, the peacock seems to have feathers (real ones) in its tail. Very good work.

  2. I’m not sure why but this site is loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.

  3. Wow! This can be one of the most useful blogs we have ever come across on thesubject. Actually wonderful post! I’m also an expert in this topic therefore I can understand your effort.
